Prop Contest

Do you want to be a Prop Master grand prize winner at Camp ScareFest ? Well here is your chance. Create a Prop that will scare the bee-gee-bees out of the many fans attending SF and enter our Camp ScareFest Horror Prop Contest. The Grand prize winner of the Camp ScareFest Horror Prop Contest will receive an Outdoor Gas Grill sponsored by Home Depot.

The ScareFest event will be a useful way to gain practical skills if this is your first time at designing a prop and good exposure if you are already designing props and you are trying to get into the business of prop making.

All contestants to the Prop Master contest will be asked to place their prop on public display for the duration of ScareFest, September 30-October 2, 2016. At each location of the props a vote box will be provided so people that like your prop can vote. Each vote has to have an email address and only one vote per prop. Once the votes are counted the three with the most votes will be judged for our first place grand prize winner.

Your creative talent and skills will be judged on art, design, originality, model-making skills with a high degree of attention to detail.

The prop can to be a stand-alone prop (no larger than 8’x8’or it can be held and transported by hand such as wicked helmets, weapons, shields, backpacks, and other accessories made into horror props.

Each contestant must allow ScareFest fans to take pictures of or with their prop so safety will be an important feature. Sharp blades or edges, or unbalanced/unsecured props will not be allowed. You must remain with your prop at all times. It may never be left alone or you will be disqualified from the contest.

Submission requirements for approval:

1) You must be 18 years or older.

2) Send a description and name of the prop you wish to enter.

3) The prop dimensions must be included in the description as well as any special accommodations for mounting. If the prop has a stand or mount it should be included in the overall dimensions of the prop.

4) A photo of the prop.

5) If your prop needs electricity to make it work then there is a $50 electricity fee that must be paid to the center.

You will receive two free weekend membership passes to be able to enter the con to present your approved prop. There will be only one submission per contestant.
